My best friend came up on Saturday and we joined some friends to go to a new restaurant and lounge called Trinity in keyport to celebrate Mardi Gras. We had a lot of fun. We didn't eat there but we saw a great band. We were surprised there was no cover charge! The band, The Gas House Gorillas were definitely swinging and we had a great time dancing. The bassist had an aluminum upright that we heard he made himself. They were great performers and would even climb up the rafters of the restaurant. The place was actually originally a church. I can't wait to go back to test out the food. We heard it was really good.

It is so sad to hear that so many people have lost their jobs in last couple of months. Especially those who have children to take care of. My husbands company is closing so they had to let him go but at least he is able to do freelance work for now. A lot of people in finance with really good jobs have been let go or are parinoid that they are going to lose their jobs. One of my friends is very stressed that she can not get any fresh leads because of the big budget cuts being made. She as well as many others get most of their income based on commision so they are worried they will have to look for something new. All I can say is to hang in there and look for other ways to make additional income through affiliate networks. I am very grateful with what I have.

Happy Friday everyone! Hopefully the temperature gets into the 50's like they are predicting. We don't have anything specialed planned for tonight. We probably will just curl up, watch a movie and keep warm ;) Our friends band, Leaving Sideways, is playing at the Starland Ballroom tomorrow night. We are excited for them because it is a pretty big and well known venue in NJ. There is a Guns n' Roses cover band that will also be playing named Mr. Brownstone so that should be interesting. I am a Guns n' Roses fan so I'll have no choice but to be a tough critic on them ;) If you live in the Sayerville area check them out!

Happy Hump Day! It is wednesday and only two more days until the weekend. Horray! Hopefully this weekend is warmer and sunny. I have had enough of this cold weather for awhile. I would like spring to come early. I know the groundhog predicted 6 more weeks of winter but I am still hoping for an earlier spring. I hate being indoors because it is too cold out. It makes me too sleepy :o. At least I have room in the basement to workout and stay active. It is not the same as being active outdoors though. I was not built for the cold I guess. I do like snowboarding, skating, and sledding, but if the wind is too cold it stings way too much. Anyway, my fingers are crossed for an early spring.

So it is February first already and now January is just a memory. Time is going by quick. January was pretty eventful for me though. I got to go to Vegas for the first time which was cool. It was for business but I still got to see some sites such as the beautiful water show outside the Bellagio casino. I managed to get some footage before my memory card filled up;)
